Overview
Maya was born and raised in Halifax, West Yorkshire. She first learned to tell stories at the Shaggy Dog storytelling night when she was six years old, and then started acting at Calderdale Theatre School until she was fifteen. She moved to London at sixteen to study Theatre at The BRIT School, before going on to earn her BA in Acting at RADA, where she continued to develop her passion for theatre, voice acting and film. She played the lead role, Sophie, in a workshop of new musical Rooftoppers, directed by Philip Breen. As well as acting, she loves reading, singing, running and writing poetry, prose and songs. She also practices adult beginner’s ballet, and is hoping to learn how to sail a boat when she can next find time to visit the seaside!
