Overview
Paul studied Drama at Manchester University and has been a leading actor in theatre, television and film for generations. His extensive theatre credits cover all the major subsidised institutions where he has worked with the finest writers, the likes of Edward Bond, David Hare, Tony Harrison, David Storey, Caryl Churchill and Alan Bennett and with leading directors such as, Peter Brook, Peter Hall, Trevor Nunn, Richard Eyre, Peter Gill, and Lindsay Anderson and more recently Paul Miller and Matthew Dunster. On television, major credits with all the leading broadcasters in a variety of cop and villain roles include Doc Martin, Ashes to Ashes, Life On Mars, A Touch of Frost, The Knock, Murder Most Horrid, Peak Practice, Pride and Prejudice (the more upright Colonel Foster), Wycliffe, Maigret, and Between The Lines. To mainstream television audiences, he is probably best known as series regular, George Palmer in Eastenders. Paul is a widely experienced performer in the audio world with over 100 radio, voiceover and narration broadcasts to his name, the most recent of these being a new drama series on Amazon.
