Overview
Archana was born in India and trained in Bharatanatyam – an India classical dance form – from the age of 4. She made her professional theatre debut in Caucasian Chalk Circle and her screen debut with Balu Mahendra’s Kathai Neram. Following this she worked with some prestigious names in the Tamil industry including; Manirathnam, Revathy and Suhasini. Further stage and screen roles followed in India, including Tartuffe, Richard III and Lady Macbeth in a production by Vikram Iyengar for which she won the best actress award at Delhi Metha in 2006. She played Titania in Tim Supple’s celebrated A Midsummer Night’s Dream which played sell out seasons at the Swan Theatre, Stratford upon Avon and London’s Roundhouse as well as touring widely in UK, Europe, Australia and North America. In the UK, Archana’s stage appearances include the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet (NT Shed and on tour) and in No Dogs No Indians by Siddarth Bose at Brighton Festival and South Bank Centre. She currently lives in South East London.
